This course will provide you with the knowledge, confidence and practical skills that are required to carry out direct and indirect leak testing on stationary refrigeration systems/equipment, air conditioning and heat pump equipment.

Certification: BESA certificated F-Gas Category 4; certification is awarded by BESA.

This is aimed at those working within the refrigeration and air-conditioning industry who need to meet the legal requirements as per the F-Gas regulations 2014 for working with fluorinated gases HFC’s (GWP), and other Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS) Such as CFC’s & HCFC’s.

Learning Outcomes from the Course:

Basic systems, principles and units and how they relate to theory and thermodynamics of vapour compression cycles and refrigerants used in the industry.
Causes and effects of global warming and ozone depletion (GWP & ODS)
Identification of air conditioning and heat pump components, functions and leakage risk associated with these systems.
Hazards, safe working practices, risk assessments and method statements.
